Today outdoor advertising is an annual multi-billion dollar industry and is considered the leading advertising media to reach out and target thousands of traveling motorist to sell their products and services every day. Outdoor billboard advertising is the least expensive media available for advertisers to reach out to advertisers. Less expensive than newspapers, magazines, radio and television.
Today outdoor advertising has center stage as the best way to reach targeted markets to thousands of shoppers who travel our highways across America. Ever since they discovered the effectiveness of outdoor billboard and media it has become more and more in demand. Today American motorist rely on billboards more than ever before, so a bond was born and formed between the billboard and the American public.
Out of all of this, an annual multi-billion dollar business was also born, the powerful and lucrative outdoor advertising industry as we know it today. The high increase in outdoor advertising demands grew as the increase of America's new highways and interstate systems fueled the way. Many who could see the vision seized the moment and became very wealthy outdoor advertising entrepreneurs at lightning speeds. Out of all of this many self made multi-millionaire billboard tycoons were born.

There is very few investments I know of that can give a 100% return on capital investment in 12 to 36 months, then keep on giving 75% to 80% of the net income each year for the next 19 to 29 years depending on your billboard property lease.
Billboards, unlike most real estate investments, have very low maintenance if any. No plumbing, no painting, no new carpets, and repairs. The tenant pay for their ad printing and the installation. When they move out, they have already paid in advance for the removal if they want their deposit back. Most billboards today are made of steel and require little or no maintenance, and they are engineered to last over 100 years of continuous use.
If you are one of the fortunate and you buy a billboard with a perpetual property easement your returns will increase up to 90% to 95% annually. With a perpetual lease, both the billboard and location will still be around for your next generation and give them a secure income for many, many years to come. Because perpetual easements are very rare, they are more expensive, but in demand, the upside is they demand a higher resale value on the back end.
I have searched for billboard properties to lease and development across America since the early 60’s until present. I opened my first outdoor billboard company in 1963 that was over 50 years ago I built if up and sold for it for seven figures in 4 years, I was 27 years old at the time. I thought that was so easy I built the second company and sold in half the time it took me to build the first. The lesson to be learned here is I should have kept all my billboards. Most all of those same billboards are still out there working 24-7, 365 days a year, 46 years later and several are some of the most strategic locations in my home town city today.
Today over 50 years after my billboard journey started, I still own a company that builds, sells, buys and rents billboards across America, Canada, and Mexico. Plus I own a billboard brokerage company that finds billboards and billboards locations for my investors across America from coast to coast. They range from mom and dad Investors to Fortune 400 investors with Fortune 500 companies, not to forget Wall Street.
We also have our ad agency that manages and sells advertising for our investors who need to j ump start their new investment or does not have time for the day to day business of running an outdoor advertising billboard business.
I got to see first-hand how effective outdoor advertising is.
One of the companies my billboard company work for was a national roadside side restaurant chain during the 60's and 70's. Most of their billboards were made of wood and were poorly constructed by the original builders. None were built to building codes as they are required to do so today so you can imagine how many billboards blew down when the winter or spring winds came in especially across the high plains of the Midwest and southwest.
This company would go in a panic mode when bad weather came especially when an exit billboard or primary directional billboard came down. The store’s sales would drop several thousand of dollars a day, it was like cutting off a water faucet except this was their cash instead. The day my construction teams would rebuild the billboard the stores cash flow would instantly go back up to normal. Have no doubt billboard advertising works, and you are providing a service needed by both advertiser and consumer. It is a win, win for everyone.
Have no doubt billboard advertising is a very powerful media. The digital billboard of today is the answer to adverting agencies and their clients everywhere. The one who benefits the most is the billboard's owner, one digital billboard can generate as much as 8 times the revenue of a conventional static billboard. It is not unusual for a digital billboard in great location to generate as much a $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per month.
Advertisers no longer have to settle for a static ad that has to be printed or painted every time someone wants to change the copy.
An advertiser change his copy as often as he or she wishes. A car dealer no longer is stuck with having an ad with just one automobile featured they can run several different ads featuring every car on their lot at different times. A restaurant can feature different meal specials at different time of the day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. With digital billboards advertisers are only limited by their imagination.
The point is digital billboards are here to stay and they are the future of outdoor advertising.
